Being highly acidic may not necessarily be life-threatening, but can cause various symptoms in our daily life which ranges from, fatigue, low energy levels, irritability, headaches, recurring infections and dry skin.

  • Sugar
  • Grains

  • High protein foods
  • Protein supplements.

You might also choose to avoid some high phosphorus drinks such as hot chocolate made from cocoa mix and also beer. If you love to drink and need some sort of drink as a substitute then mineral sodas, sparkling water can be a good for you.

You might need to go with lower phosphorus red or white wine if you still love to take alcohol as this is still in line with the alkaline diet. Some foods and beverages produce less acid than protein or sodas, but they don’t still provide the major alkaline effect you would get from most fruits and vegetables.

You should also aim to limit these foods cause they may be affecting your acid-base
